Overview

Starchel Helmut & team

Starchel Helmut was working with Kelag, one of the largest power generators from hydropower in Austria when he approached us for climbing one of the most popular peaks in India- Mount Satopant of 7075 Meters. He was a seasoned climber and when the team of five persons reached Delhi, it was extremely encouraging and inspirational to see that one member had very short and folded arms. Beyond to our surprise, it was told that the gentleman was coming from successful Mount Everest climb. For him it was off course tough to catch the fork on dining table and further ropes during expedition like a normal human being but he had trained him in best possible and perfect way for these things. He was more fit, active and energetic than any normal human being and it was our privilege that he offered us the opportunity to serve for this expedition and learn several things

Satopant Peak

Mt. Satopanth, situated in Garwhal Himalaya, is technically moderate with a complex glacier approach, followed by easy angled snow slopes interspersed with knife edge ridges. Mt. Satopanth is the second highest summit in the Gangotri Group located in the remote Garwhal Himalaya Range separating the Gangotri and Chaturangi Glaciers. This is an incredibly beautiful point to view peaks of Thalay Sagar, Shivling and the terrifying granite pillars of Bhagirathi III.  Gaumukh, the mouth of the holy Ganges River, known as the most holy place in all of India, is very close to Gangotri make this expedition more than just a climb, it is a cultural experience unmatched anywhere in the world. From a base camp at Vasuki Tal (4850m), a further three camps will be established on the mountain prior to the summit bid.  After approximately three weeks on the mountain the expedition will return to Gangotri and then back home.
